Today, I'm very excited to announce that Groove Café is launching the mix series Weekly Specials archiving some of the best sets from our livestreams. Every mix will include a link where you can donate to an organization selected by the artist, since we hope to use these mixes to promote organizations doing great work in this current fight for justice..

First up is Farplane's set from April broadcast from Chicago, full of aquatic ambient and techno inspiring a kind of muted bliss. Farplane is comprised of friends and collaborators in the Groove Café project, Glenna Fitch and Alex Bond, aka SOLD and Hi-Vis, respectively. Having them inauguruate this mix series is a privelege, as they are not only wonderful people, but top notch DJs. They are asking listeners to donate to two really amazing organizations in Chicago: Assata's Daughters which "organizes young Black people in Chicago by providing them with political education, leadership development, mentorship, and revolutionary services," and the Westside Justice Center, which works to "ensure low-income people have access to fair and just criminal justice system in courts and jails."

We have a mix coming up every week from lots of other fine groovers. Stay tuned!
